Runner Up: Best Hand Mixer
If you’re a budget shopper that just needs a mixer for some of your cooking needs, the Proctor Silex 62509R 5-Speed Hand Mixer will be a good buy. It only has 100 Watts of power, but that is enough power if you’re just using your mixer for occasional baking and cooking. This mixer actually has a lot of features that you wouldn’t expect for such a low, bargain price. It has full-sized chrome beaters that are highly durable and will last through a lot of use. It even has five separate mixing speeds, so you can mix a number of different textures and thicknesses. Like most high-end mixers, it has a beater eject button for convenient storage, but what you’ll really love is how it has a convenient “bowl rest” feature, so you don’t have to hold and move the blender around the bowl the entire time you’re mixing, which can get tiresome if you’re mixing a really thick dough.
The biggest downfall of this mixer is its durability. It’s not made for everyday use by an avid chef or baker. It also doesn’t have the power needed for thick doughs that serious bakers often want to blend with a hand mixer.
- Convenient Bowl rest feature
- 100-WattS of power
- Beater eject button
