Runner Up: Best Needlepoint Book
Needlepoint Stitches: 52 Stitches Explained and Illustrated is a beloved book to all needlepointers; novice to expert. It’s the perfect reference book for learning to needlepoint, and there’s no doubt you’ll refer back to it for years after you’ve learned. The projects vary for all skill levels, which makes it perfect for advancing to a more difficult design each time you complete a project. Each project is well illustrated in color with complete instructions, that are easy enough for complete newbies to follow. If you’re a visual learner, there’s no doubt this is the perfect first needlepoint book for you.
While the pictures are certainly the best attribute of this book, if you don’t learn well visually, by looking at illustrations, you may find this a difficult book to learn from. Most needlepointers find the pictures extremely helpful, but if you were looking for more step-by-step instructions, you may be disappointed until you’ve moved past the novice stage.
