A more powerful electric trimmer can help you get the job done faster. Black & Decker have set themselves apart when it comes to electric trimmers. For this weed whacker it boasts an impressive 40V battery. This battery charges quickly (approx. 30 minutes) and lasts approximately 40 minutes or more depending on usage. It gives more power to everything that you do so you can whack away weeds and grass much easier and for more prolonged amounts of time. You don’t even have to work on full power, as it can be controlled using the PowerCommand feature which is useful for lengthening the time of use. While you’re out trimming you will enjoy that their line feeds automatically, saving you time to stop for a bump and go. all round it’s a great and affordable string trimmer with minor reports from users around battery lasting 30-40mins and the power setting not as functional as full. You’re probably going to be full power most of the time anyway.

How to Choose a Battery Powered Cordless Grass String Trimmer

Cordless battery powered sting trimmers are a popular choice for their quiet operation, low carbon emissions ease of use and negating the need to fill with gas plus more. What is it that you need to look out for when choosing the one for your needs?

Battery & Power

Usual battery runtime for a cordless grass strimmer is between 40 to 50 minutes. Depending on the type of battery (lithium-ion being most preferred for its fast charging, long lasting and long life cycle features), will depend on what usage time and power you get. Other things to look out for are the volts and amps so you can tell how powerful the trimmer might be.

There aren't many brands that make battery powered grass trimmers which makes it quite easy to make a decision. There are some more reputable and supportive brands than others. Researching the brand before purchase could be a good idea.

If you want a trimmer to last very long then battery powered might not be for you. Decide what your usage needs are and match the features to this. For example, some trimmers double up as edgers or have extending handles. What features do you need to get the job done?

Automatic or Manual Line Feed

When feeding the line while trimming do you want it to be automatic or manual? Manual is usually the stop and bump method and automatic there is no need. There is also trimmers with dual capability. Some people will prefer automatic but some complain it can get awkward when enough line doesn't feed. Be aware of this.

Size, Ergonomics & Weight

As you will be using the trimmer for lengthy periods of time you comfort is important . If the trimmer doesn't have a comfort grip handle will your hands suffer? Or if it is heavy, will you be able to carry it for the amount of time you need?
